Jeff Matson
Co-FounderJeff Matson is a master hair stylist and co-owner of Matson & Co Hair Salon, bringing over two decades of expertise to every client who sits in his chair. A California native born in Los Angeles and raised in Santa Barbara County, Jeff began his career in the late 1990s and has since built a reputation as one of the area's most versatile and skilled stylists.
Jeff's training reads like a who's who of the industry's most prestigious institutions — Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble, Oribe , Paul Mitchell, and Redken among them — giving him a technical foundation that is both broad and deeply refined. His clientele is just as diverse, spanning doctors, lawyers, punk rockers, and actors, a range that speaks to his ability to connect with people from all walks of life and deliver results that feel authentically them.
His specialties include precision haircutting and advanced blonding techniques, as well as Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) — a specialized service in which ultra-fine dots are expertly tattooed onto the scalp to create the natural illusion of hair density and fullness.
Jeff draws his creative inspiration from music, cinema, and artists working across many mediums. His guiding philosophy is simple: give every client a hairstyle that genuinely complements who they are and how they live.
When he's not behind the chair, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife Nada and their two exotic shorthair cats, Marvin and Mable, creating art, and hitting the road on his motorcycle.

is a hair stylist, fine hair specialist, and Co-Owner of Matson & Co. Raised in Santa Barbara, Nada has spent nearly two decades mastering the art of working with fine hair — developing a reputation as a trusted expert for clients who want results that are both beautiful and built to last.
Fine hair requires a level of precision and understanding that goes beyond general styling, and it's where Nada truly excels. Her specialty in natural and dimensional color on fine hair allows her to create depth, movement, and vibrancy without compromising the hair's integrity. She is also highly skilled in extensions specifically designed to build fullness and volume — transforming fine hair in a way that looks and feels completely natural. Combined with her expertise in precision haircutting, Nada offers a complete approach tailored to the unique needs of fine hair clients.
Her technical foundation is built on advanced training with Oribe, Vidal Sassoon, Bumble and Bumble, and Redken — industry leaders whose methodologies have sharpened her ability to deliver exceptional results on even the most delicate hair types.
As Co-Owner of Matson & Co., Nada has helped build a salon rooted in expertise, intention, and a deeply personalized client experience.
When she's not behind the chair, Nada enjoys flower arranging, gardening, and cooking. She spends her time away from the salon with her husband Jeff and their two cats, Marvin and Mable.

Nancy Garza began her journey in hairstyling in the early 2000s, bringing over two decades of passion and expertise to her craft. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of training with some of the most prestigious names in the industry, including Vidal Sassoon, Bumble and Bumble, and Oribe — a foundation that continues to inform and elevate her work.
Nancy’s specialties lie in hair coloring and extensions, where her keen eye for detail and dedication to her clients shine through in every appointment. Whether she’s crafting a seamless color transformation or creating flawless extensions, Nancy’s commitment to excellence ensures each client leaves feeling their very best. Nancy also known for her amazing extensions and attention to detail.
When she’s not behind the chair, Nancy enjoys what matters most — spending quality time with her family and tending to her garden, a hobby that reflects the same care and nurturing spirit she brings to her work every day.
Colorist & StylistVictoria McHone
With over 15 years behind the chair, Victoria McHone has built her career around one simple belief: great hair should work for your life, not against it.
Victoria trained at cosmetology school in Portland, Oregon, and refined her craft through an apprenticeship at one of Reno's top salons — an experience that gave her a strong technical foundation and a deep respect for the artistry of this profession. She has continued that commitment to growth through ongoing education with Vidal Sassoon, Rusk, Organic Salon Systems, and a Master of Balayage certification.
Her specialties include organic color, lived-in blondes, and precision haircuts designed to grow out gracefully — no awkward in-between phases. Victoria is also passionate about helping clients achieve their long hair goals, going beyond the appointment to share personalized care routines and hair growth strategies that actually make a difference.
A self-described hair nerd, Victoria genuinely loves educating people on how to care for and handle their hair, because the right knowledge transforms a good haircut into a great one. Her goal for every client is simple: to leave with a style, color, and cut that feels like a true expression of who they are — and that fits seamlessly into their everyday life.
When she's not in the salon, you can usually find Victoria near the water or curled up with a good book. She grew up on the island of Kauai, spent her teen years in the greater Lake Tahoe area, and lived in Portland for a stretch before Santa Barbara stole her heart — and has proudly called it home for the past 17 years. Victoria will be the first to tell you she's outsidey, not outdoorsy. Don't invite her on your backpacking trip, but she will absolutely meet you at a beautiful beach or a cozy cabin in the woods.
Hair StylistAriel
Ariel Neustadt’s passion for hair began early, working in a salon at just 14 years old. She became a licensed hairstylist in 2009 after studying at Paul Mitchell The School and has since built her career working from San Francisco to Santa Barbara, where she grew up and now raises her own family.
Ariel specializes in dimensional blonding and customized extensions, with advanced training in multiple extension methods and smoothing treatments. Committed to staying current with evolving techniques and trends, she prioritizes continued education to deliver consistently refined results. Ariel takes the time to understand her clients’ lifestyles and hair goals so the end result feels polished, natural, and manageable. She is passionate about creating elevated hair that enhances each client’s features while remaining practical for everyday life.
At home in Santa Ynez, Ariel spends her time with her family building their compound and soaking up as much outdoor life as possible. She loves raising her kids to be curious, eclectic, and active.

Erin is a curl specialist with over a decade of experience in precision curl cutting, custom color, and enhancing every client’s natural texture. Trained in Los Angeles and New York, she brings advanced curl techniques and a deep understanding of textured hair to her work. Erin is passionate about creating beautiful, low-maintenance looks that highlight each client’s unique curl pattern and lifestyle.
